Ever felt anxious or worried about going to a therapy appointment? Personal growth and the processing of issues can be hard work but it can also be fun and enjoyable. I believe that the use of creative methods and action oriented therapy creates a unique and enjoyable counseling experience. I use psychodrama, art therapy, and relaxation techniques to help people reach their goals. I don't believe in the medical model of illness, rather that everyone has challenges in life. The goal of therapy is to create positive emotional and behavioral changes to achieve optimum quality of life.
I work primarily with women, children, and families using creative techniques. One session might focus on role training to practice new skills while another might include the creation of a vision board for achieving goals. Deeper therapeutic issues are processed through the safety of the alliance we would create.
