I worked in both the public and non-profit substance abuse treatment communities for several years before accepting a position with a private substance abuse treatment center. At this center, I served as a primary therapist, the Director of the women’s program, the Clinical Director, and finally as the Chief Executive Officer.

I have extensive experience in counseling medical and legal professionals with addictions and trauma issues. I am also very familiar with the unique situations faced by those associated with the military, having raised a family as a military dependent spouse.

I have received training in the Gottman methods and work with couples to improve their relationships. I have also worked with couples in a mixed orientation marriage where a married person has self identified as gay lesbian or bisexual and is married to a straight spouse. These couples want to make their mixed orientation marriages work. Recognizing a shortage of counselors with the understanding of the dynamics involved in these types of relationships and who can provide counseling I have been actively involved in support groups for such couples.
